How to get to Nusa Penida

Getting to Nusa Penida is an exciting part of the journey! Located southeast of Bali, the most common and convenient way to reach the island is by fastboat.

From Sanur Harbor (Bali)

Sanur is the most popular departure point. Dozens of fastboat operators offer daily trips. The ride takes about 30 to 45 minutes, depending on sea conditions.

  1. Book your ticket in advance: Especially during high season, securing your ticket through the Nupenida app ensures you have a guaranteed seat.
  2. Arrive early: Aim to be at the harbor at least 30 minutes before departure to check in.
  3. Boarding: Keep in mind you might need to wade through shallow water to board the boat, so wear sandals or easily removable shoes.

Arrival in Nusa Penida

Most boats arrive at one of the main ports: Toya Pakeh, Sampalan, or Buyuk. Once you arrive, you can easily rent a scooter or find a driver right at the port to start your adventure.
